Oscars 2012 Best Dressed on the Red Carpet
February 29, 2012
Though I'm a little bitter that The Artist stole so many awards at the Oscars, I was absolutely thrilled with what the red carpet had to offer. Below are some of our favorites for "best dressed," including a couple of products we thought might help you achieve a similar look!
Jessica Chastain: Twitter lit up with "oohs" and "ahs" when Jessica Chastain graced the red carpet. Donning a stunning black Alexander McQueen gown detailed with gold embroidery, Jessica's look was dazzling, elegant and classic. She accented her bold colors with simple makeup and stunning eyes, using thick black eyeliner. We suggest Tigi's Precision Black Eye Liner Pin to achieve a similar look.
Michelle Williams: Michelle Williams was stunning in a coral-y red tiered Louis Vuitton. With creative accents, beautiful lines and attention-grabbing details, Williams was an instant favorite. Her crimson gown was accented by cool pink makeup. Her rosy lips can be achieved with a lipstick like Tigi's Decadent Lipstick in Finesse.
Stacy Keibler: Even more than her handsome date, Stacy Keibler drew attention for her gorgeous gold frock. Oscar-like in its style, her shimmering gold Marchesa gown was classic, sexy and perfect for her form. Her side-swept hair accented the neckline beautifully, especially with its creative twist at the back of her neck. Set a style like Stacy's with a hairspray likeKenra's Design Spray for hold, flexibility and styling.
Red Carpet Rundown: Golden Globes Best & Worst!
January 17, 2011
Who were your favorites from the Golden Globes Red Carpet? We were totally impressed with the creativity and variety of the dresses, designers and celebs this year. Though others had truly beautiful makeup (um, Scarlett Johansson!), stellar dates (like Brad Pitt), or some gorgeous jewelry, here are the best and the worst dresses from the Red Carpet, based on our office vote!
The very very very worst (by a landslide vote): Helena Bonham Carter
Picking the very best was much much harder for us. With such a variety, how do we decide? Alas, we narrowed it down to our top five. Drumroll, please....
For incredible glitter, gold shoes and some serious guts: Olivia Wilde
For the perfect dress on the perfect body in the perfect color: Anne Hathaway
For looking killer in black, with great curves and a beautiful back: Eva Longoria
For an absolutely beautiful dress with stylish details and beautiful accents: Megan Fox
And last but certainly note least, for pulling off a creative vintage look flawlessly: Scarlett Johansson: (and PS... she's my personal favorite. :)
Let us know which you prefer! They're unbelievable!
Our Votes for Best & Worst at the Emmy's!
August 30, 2010
Here at Beauty of a Site, we take it upon ourselves to share a little of our best and worst dress opinions. But since I am writing the blog, I suppose I get the final word. If I start any intra office conflicts, I'll let you know about the minority opinions. :)
Editorial note: I'm a Glee fan. This might sway my votes.
My favorite two dresses:
1. Lea Michele (Rachel Berry on Glee)
She's sporting that gorgeous deep blue that we're seeing in makeup and fashion all over the place this Fall. That, plus her incredible form. Excellent.
2. Tina Fey (30 Rock)
I read on Yahoo! this morning that people weren't all the way thrilled about this dress (the Yahoo! community graded it a B+), but I give her one of my top votes. The dress is beautifully propotioned and truly unique. The color flatters her and is classic. Plus, there's a rumour that she was wearing tennis shoes under her gown. Best idea ever.
Ok, so here's my very least favorite dress. There are almost no words. This monstrosity comes to us from Holly Burrell, wife of Ty Burrell, star of Modern Family. We have it on good authority that they're pretty funny people, and could very well be joking. Let's hope for that, friends. Let's hope.

Red Carpet Best Dressed: We Vote Sandra
March 10, 2010
Like always, the 2010 Oscars were filled with great surprises, incredible hosts, interesting twists and gorgeous dresses. Though there were so many classy dresses crowding the red carpet this year, from the elegance of Kristen Stewart's midnight blue, to Maggie Gyllenhal's unique Dries Van Noten and Demi Moore's flowing ruffles, we particularly loved the glitz that 2010 brought. Cameron Diaz, Sandra Bullock and even Miley Cyrus choose glittery golds to make their red carpet appearance, and we loved what we saw from them.
Sandra Bullock's beautiful gown (did you see that lace!? incredible...) combined with her choice to wear her hair down and her bold lips really grabbed our attention. She won the hearts of the academy with her acting, and she certainly won ours with her timeless beauty.
